As the Director of Environmental Services, Will is primarily responsible for maintaining an in-depth understanding of the constantly evolving federal, state and municipal environmental regulations as well as close working relationships with the local governing agencies. In his ten years as an environmental consultant he is the company’s authority on freshwater and critical area wetland delineations, Section 404 and Section 10 permitting, South Carolina Coastal Zone Management Plan compliance, native habitat restoration, mitigation bank establishment, permittee responsible mitigation planning, Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments, biological assessment reporting, NEPA compliance, sediment and erosion control inspections, post construction BMP inspections, as well as rare threatened or endangered species surveys. Species of particular expertise include bald eagles, northern long-eared bats, American chaffseed, pondberry and spotted turtles. Will is a member of both the National Association of Environmental Professionals and South Carolina Mitigation Association; and regularly assists the Horry Georgetown Technical College staff with instruction of wetland and soil science classes. While not at work, Will enjoys spending time with his wife Elise, daughter Mary Sutton and German Shepherd Luna, and can often be found several strokes over par on the golf course.
