A resident of Georgetown County, Holden has been employed as an ecologist with the Environmental Services Division of Sabine & Waters, Inc since 2020. He is a wetland investigator for the company, conducting both freshwater and critical area wetland delineations, Nationwide permitting, restoration and mitigation strategies and coordination with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) as well as, the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC). He also works closely with the S.C. Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) conducting biological habitat assessments, rare threatened or endangered species surveys, management and translocations. Species of expertise include Bald Eagles, Red-Cockaded Woodpeckers and Northern Long-Eared Bats. In addition, Holden also assists the Forestry Division with timber cruising, herbicide applications and prescribed burning, and has completed his South Carolina Prescribed Fire Manager certification. Holden is a member of the National Deer Association, National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited and the S.C. Waterfowl Association. When not at work, Holden can be found in the woods and waterways of the Lowcountry, enjoying the sportsman’s paradise that is South Carolina.
